A Longueuil landmark, the Passerelle Normandie crosses Highway 132, connecting Marie-Victorin Park on the banks of the St Lawrence River to LeMoyne Park in Vieux-Longueil.
Designed by Cardin Julien, the structure is formulated around the concept of universal use – pedestrians, cyclists, and the elderly and disabled. On both sides, looping, shallow gradient paths allow access to the walkway, and towers house staircases for pedestrians. On the side closest to the river is a viewing platform, a belvedere, which affords panoramic views of the region.
