Shots from an event I’ve been shooting annually since 2016, the VBKI Ball der Wirtschaft. It’s always one of my favourite assignments of the year. There’s a lot on the brief, but it’s always extremely well-organised, which means that although it’s a high pressure event, with loads to photograph, it always feels like it flows. Good variety too; ambience, food and drink, dancing, and speeches. Oysters, pearls, currywurst, champagne…

It’s also a mixture of a commercial and editorial shoot. Though it’s a corporate event and gala dinner, I shoot it documentary-style, and the photos are used to illustrate the members’ magazine.
